In the world of design and architecture, Laminam has become a name synonymous with elegance, innovation, and performance. But what exactly is Laminam — and what is it made of?

This revolutionary porcelain surface has transformed the way we think about materials, offering the beauty of natural stone with enhanced durability and workability.

Whether you’re designing a luxurious kitchen, a contemporary commercial space, or a striking façade, Laminam offers a refined, high-performing solution that stands the test of time.

What is Laminam

Laminam is a sintered porcelain slab, produced in large formats and is available in ultra-thin profiles – from just 2mm up to 20mm thick. It’s used across a wide range of applications, from benchtops and splashbacks to wall cladding, floors, furniture, and building facades.

What sets Laminam apart is its technical precision, visual sophistication, and sustainablity credentials. Unlike natural stone, which varies in tone and structure, Laminam is engineered for consistency, giving designers and fabricators complete control over their vision.

What is Laminam Made Of?

At its core, Laminam is made entirely from natural, sustainable raw materials – with no resins or harmful additives. Its composition is simple, pure, and high performing:

  • Refined Clay: Acts as a base material, chosen for its plasticity and workability.
  • Quartz and Feldspar: Provide strength, hardness, and structural stability.
  • Natural Mineral Pigment: Used for colouring and surface aesthetics, providing UV stability and long-lasting tones.

These materials are finely ground into a powder, pressed into large slabs, and then fired at temperatures above 1,200°C in a process known as sintering. The result? A non-porous, stain-resistant, heat-resistant, and scratch-resistant surface that’s ideal for high-performance environments.

The Laminam Edge: No Tension, No Compromise

One of Laminam’s key innovations is its patented tension-free slab production process. The unique approach ensures that each slab is perfectly flat and highly stable – significantly reducing the risk of breakage during transport, cutting, or installation.

This makes Laminam not only a beautiful surface, but ont that fabricators and trades love to work with.
